Spiritual Direction

An invitation to discover ways that spirituality can contribute to your health and well-being.

Spiritual direction is the contemplative process of accompanying one on a spiritual journey in a safe, confidential, and sacred environment; responding to that transcendent mystery we call God, the holy or higher power. It emphasizes intimate growth with the source of all life, and arises from the desire to deepen one’s relationship with the holy.

The benefits of spiritual direction are many. It improves discernment skills when making major life decisions, especially during times of transition and stress. It also improves one’s sense of consciousness; shifting from the tendency to manipulate spirituality toward rigid expectations, to the natural and unique relationship of the holy as it is revealed in one’s life.

My goal is to help you understand this relationship; integrating your own personal spirituality – to live in peace, with compassion and justice, as humble servants toward ourselves, one another, and with all creation.

Hourly sessions are usually once a month. They involve listening, questioning, and reflection upon how the spirit moves and guides you in your daily life, inviting you toward a deeper relationship between the sacred and yourself.

My approach honors the body as co-partner with mind and spirit. A session may include guided imagery and meditation, holistic assessment and evaluation of your body’s energy flow, self-help acupressure points, energy balancing techniques, yoga postures/flows, Chi Gung exercises, spiritual practice, dietary and herbal recommendations, and Feng Shui recommendations.

We all strive to embody our worldly hopes – a loving community in which people are free to be themselves without fear. Where no one is exiled, silenced or exploited because of gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, age, class, or disability.

I invite you to nurture your spiritual garden.
